Pupillage & Scholarship

Pupillage

Please note: CCTC is not currently offering pupillage.

CCTC believes that the tax barrister’s profession is an important part of the constitutional checks and balances that protect civil rights and liberties from an enormously powerful government revenue collection authority; HMRC. The work we do is incredibly complex and intellectually demanding and as such it is suited to only the most outstanding practitioners.

Where CCTC makes a pupillage offer, we will also offer a pupillage award of up to £100,000 in order to promote access to the tax bar by the most able candidates regardless of background. Applicants may be considered at any career stage.

Scholarship

In memory of Sir Derek Oulton, who devoted his professional life to the service of the law, and his retirement to teaching law, CCTC is establishing and funding a scholarship in conjunction with Gray’s Inn.  This will be a fully funded BVC scholarship.  Further details will be added here in due course.

We have instructed Joseph Howard on a number of occasions in relation to complex high value matters. His advice is always clear and comprehensive and he cuts quickly to the essence of any matter. Not only does he identify issues but is always on hand with practical workable solutions.
